    Project Description:

    The overall development comprises the conversion of 19 levels of existing serviced apartments to hotel room accommodation (levels 6 to 24) as well as the re-development of Level 5 tennis court to 2-level restaurant and lounge. The existing structure is conventional reinforced concrete up to and including level 6 and post tensioned floor system from level 7 and above.
    To minimise the structural impact on the existing structure and to maximise the floor Live Load capacity, the proposed new structure over level 5 tennis court area shall be designed as lightweight steel framed.

    As part of the overall refurbishment program, Ocean Place JV Co. Ltd. (OPCL) proposes to construct an additional two level lounge and restaurant over what is currently the tennis court at Level 5. This new structure is also intended to house the gymnasium which shall be relocated from its present position.

    The project is located at Sheraton Saigon, 88 Dong Khoi St., District 1 – Ho Chi Minh City.

    HBP was engaged to conduct a structural assessment in order to ascertain the feasibility of the additional structure over Level 5 Tennis Court and if feasible, to recommend the maximum floor Imposed Loading to Level 5 external areas.
